Very nicely done! The hairs on the lion's mane and face really look nice.

Hi! I just featured this in my first journal of 2009 . Please stop by, when you have time, to look at the other Canine and Feline Art displayed there. Happy New Year!

I really love seeing your WIP... it's really nice knowing how the painting came to be. And very helpful too! Thanks!

Incredible as per the usual for you.
It made me think of the Aesop's fable where the mouse pulls the thorn out of the lion's paw or something like that.

Thanks. Yeah, that has been mentioned and I do sort of remember the fable.
It was an original idea when I came up with it, but maybe this was lurking deep within my subconscious.

It's great! Maybe a highlight or two on the mouse, just a tad; I think it's wonderful that you only notice it at second glance, but it's still a bit hard to see.
By any chance inspired by the fable of the Lion and the Mouse?
