Strangely that was exactly what he was thinking. We were staying in a bed and breakfast place and were strongly warned about his nasty nature
I should have used a long lens...

Don't confront the evil cat - you are plying with forces beyond our comprehension!

Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil, and cruel. True, and they have many other
fine qualities as well.

This one was just plain nasty but that doesn't contradict your quote!

I am of the belief that if you love something, or find beauty in it, you must embrace all of it's parts.
Cats are a perfect example. Cold and aloof, any affection they deem one worthy of truly seems a gift.

Rudyard Kipling wrote the story of 'The cat that walked by itself'... it reflects your thoughts.

The thing that gets me with house cats is the knowledge that if they were to suddenly grow or the owner suddenly shrink...well, did anyone see the part of The Great Mouse Detective where Ratigan throws out Bartholomew for calling him a rat and summons "Felicia"....yeah...that'd be the owner.

Looks can be and in this case are deceptive - it was the most bad tempered cat I've met outside the feral world!

Oh. I see. Lots of parallels to the world of humans then.

No, not ours. We were introduced to (and warned about) him in a Chambre d'hote in France. I promise you this was not a lazy look, rather one of dislike/hate of all strangers invading his territory. I probably should have used the telephoto lens just for safety reasons. Ours are the B/W & ginger ones scattered through the galllery.

No issues - just attempted homicide! We drive down to Catalonia through France, both beautiful countries for the camera

Thanks - others have been reminded of lost pets by my portrait photographs as well but hopefully only of the good memories and not the pain of loss itself

She and I have a special bond. She was a stray that we took in, and the first time I saw her I sat down to pet her, and she crawled right in my lap and fell asleep and stayed there for over an hour. She's picked on by one of the other cats so she's a little angry and defensive at times, but she absolutely loves me, even when she's acting like a brat.

She's not a biter or a scratcher, but she hates our dog and our other cats. We're lucky in the sense that she's not violent.
