A few days ago, Nic told me she was emailing me photos of her new home,and she said don't worry, no nudity. So I told her I was emphatically
NOT INTERESTED. UnU Imagine, wasting my time by sending me photos
without naked people in them!
So she told me next time she'd take a photo of herself,
naked in her living room.
AND THEN SHE SENT ME A REFERENCE PHOTO.
So I spent all day drawing her.
Sadly, she wasn't nude, but I'll take what I can get. It says a lot about her,
that she'd go out of her way to do me a favour, when I was actually being
quite rude to her.
I mean, I was kidding, but I'm still fairly abrasive.Nicolien is one of my bestest buddies, and I love her to itty bitty pieces.
It was lovely to draw her, finally. I've drawn a bunch of portraits in this
format, but this is the only one where the subject is turned away from the
centre of the page. I think that suits Nic's personality. She's shy, modest,
hardworking, friendly, talented... SO talented. She's the most multi-talented
person I've ever known. She blows my mind every day.

What a beautiful palette, the intensity of the red contrasts really well with that aggressively blue shade. The green in her eyes completes the harmony, peering out from inside the pigment right into you. It's kinda scary, even. It's too bad I can't really tell where her arm ends and her back begins, though u.u

Thank you! Yeah, I had trouble with the cropping, since I wanted it to be head and shoulders, yet her arm separates from her back a little lower than pictured, so it looks somewhat unfinished. Oh well.
