Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all!Anyways, this is my 2008 version of the Christmas card I tend to want to make myself each year (last year being an exception), with this year being the best yet. Not that that is very difficult, as in most cases the Christmas card seems to suffer from that deadline called 25 December
.I decided to reuse the character from the last piece again, as I had major fun drawing her anf that particular style. I also found a faster way to paint in this style, since the last style was way to intense on the hours. Therefore, I guess this one didnt even take me 5 hours, which is rare, since I normally forget how long I work on these drawings
. Anyways, have a great Christmas and dont get too drunk

This looks so nice c: It makes me think of this one old fairytale book that I have, even if it doesn't look anything like them. I guess it's just because they both share the similar, very lovely feeling in them that makes me think how wonderful it was to be little <:3

I had been working to long with an anime style, deluding myself that that was what I felt at home in, while the enjoyment of making each drawing was slowly but surely lowering. It was not until I saw a poster of Coraline that I found that to be an infinitely interesting style; not realistic, but not "childish" enough to be uninteresting (suffice it to say; when I first saw the movie, it was great and also a great example of awesome design). You can still see the influences from Coraline
I felt that Coraline would mesh well with my interests; a fantasy feel that does not scream adult, but is not exactly childlike either. Kind of like the classy edition of children book illustrations

I can relate to that feeling :C I used to have a somewhat mange-like style and at some point it started bothering me too much and at some point it just made me not want to draw anymore so I decided to change my style a bit. Too bad I didn't see anything that'd seem interesting enough so I had to play with different styles a lot. I did so many pictures, every last one of them with a different style until I finally found the one I still have. And I'm sure that I'll be moving completely into realism form now on :3 Something I've never dared to do because I haven't had enough skills to begin with before.
Ah, so that's the name! I thought that the style seemed somewhat familiar in a way, like I had seen a movie of the kind or something. Well, one less things bothering me
It's a great style, yes c: And the feeling I get from it is just so special, it makes me smile every time I look at that picture and remember how I used to live in this really beautiful place as a child and climb in the trees at winter... I still long to go back there and see the places again, even if the building we lived in(an old school) is now nothing but a memory.
