Well what do you expect it's for kids, blame the FCC it's their regulations that they have to follow, seriously if they had dubbed the anime for audences OLDER than 10 or so things would probly be different, but they've been dubbing FOR KIDS, not for teens or adults.

Well. From what I heard one of the reasons why 4Kids was around at that time was because they felt there needed to be more kid's shows. And to be honest, they're right. Back then, most kids cartoons where on a dead-on-arrival at the time. With the exception of a few from Cartoon Network and SpongeBob. Kid's shows were expected to be awful.

*lesigh* I just recently got into One Piece thanks to a friend of mine... and I already didn't like 4kids (thanks to reading the Tokyo Mew Mew manga, then having a friend mentioned she recognized Ichigo as Zoey and I was just like... NO.) THEN I saw them censor full episodes out of OP.. I was very sad...I didn't mind the rap... but then they really screwed up when I saw THIS.... [link] Why??????

4kids dubbed anime has all the guns and violence censored to hell and back, BUT there own shows like TMNT, have violence guns and death. Why? Heres what I think:
4KIDS ARE A BUNCH OF XENOPHOBES!
They hate anything that comes from another country or culture, so they make any foreign property they get suck to make American shows look better.
I wouldn't be surprised if Al Khan was a McCain Palin supporter.

One thing that doesn't make sense:
Sonic X: You know how the Japanese writing was removed? Well, why in dub episode 17 are we allowed to see Chinese writing?

No, no. It's the one where Knuckles in a place that looks like Chinatown and meets Hawk there about the chaos emerald found in the city. Featuring the famous "leek bun" line.

The writing was still on stuff... except when they censored a drink labeled "BEER".
Because children can't see beer on TV, even if Goku didn't drink it because it was "too bitter".

And let's not forget how they intended on changing the bgm to the series for their dubs. The original bgm was...well, original.

And who could forget those unforgivable cuts like Little Garden in One Piece. Or the Yu-Gi_Oh! cards showing the description and name of the cards in the original version but only showing a picture of the card and what kind of card it is. Or the Kirby episode with Noseman.

Couldn't they just also write english translated versions of the openings from the original instead of writing their own pieces of crap? And what do they have against the original endings that they only showed still shots and rolled the credits?
