Tribute to The Silversage and the DC fanfic Fallout [link]Summary: a post "Raven Chaser" story. Because "The Raven Chaser" opened many doorsβ¦and Kaito worries. Animeverse/Movieverse.
This is a great fanfic and I hope it'll be updated soon!
But I haven't got a reply back from The Silversage since I finished this back in March! If anyone knows how to get ahold of her besided FF.net PM please let me know. I wanted to post this since I've this long anyway.

I love this! Awesome work of art, and tribute to one of my all-time favorite fanfics! But I have to ask, why, in the name of all that's holy, have you not drawn the scene from Ch. 6, where Conan has to behave like his child persona in front of Aoko, and Kaito snaps a photo of him being dwarfed by their shared teddy bear Mr. Houdini, while he's still all wrapped in bandages, and looking ultra-cute and vulnerable?! Ever since I first read that story, I have wanted to see that scene in fanart, but my people-drawing skills are lacking. I've always been more of an animal doodler, sadly, so I can't draw the fanart pics I crave to see in my favorite fanfics. I'd also love to see the scene where Kaito is all terrified when he has to meet with Jodie and Conan in his room from Ch. 6, any moment from Ch. 4 where Ran is taking care of Conan during his raging fever, or the scene in Ch. 5 where Kaito has cuffed Hakuba to the sofa while he's trying to stitch up a terribly wounded Conan. Aw, who am I kidding? There are so many awesome moments in Fallout, that I'd like every chapter to be frequently illustrated, (Conan in a dress and Mary Janes and being carried piggyback comes to mind....).
I, like you, wonder deperately what has happened to The Silversage. I know from her detailed ANs that she used to attened AKON dressed as Kaito Kid each summer. I have no way of knowing if she still attends, but if any Detective Conan fan saw Kaito Kid at that convention this past weekend, PLEASE let the rest of us DC fans know. I know she said she was taking a break from writing to get caught up on other projects she had in the works, but I would just be happy to know that she's okay, and plans to come back to her amazing story eventually. She worked too hard, and did such an amazing job on her story, to let it go unfinished.
Meanwhile, thank you so much for stepping up and doing fanfic illustrations for Detective Conan! You are performing an awesome service for DC fanfic readers. Can I also suggest fanfics Scars by Tobina and The Case of the Missing Detective by Krista Perry as worthy candidates for fanart for their stories? (Krista is an inspiration, she came back to work on her amazing story after having left it unfinished for something like twelve years! Would that more fanfic writers would come back to their abandoned stories, or would put them up for adoption.)

Thank you so much! I would love to do more drawings for my favorite scenes and fanfics. I actually did a bunch of sketches for Fallout, I'd have too look around if I still have them anywhere... However, I'm working on a few projects sort of already. Please watch my new DC fanart account if you'd like! I just posted a new fanfic fanart cover not too long ago. Are you mostly a reader yourself or do you happen to do any fan work?
I can't believe it's been over a year since I finished this piece. I messaged the Silversage when I finished it and waited over a month before I decided to post it since I never heard back from her. I haven't attended AKON, let alone any con ^_^; (I almost went to Otaku waaay back in high school but that didn't end up happening) I really just hope she's all right of course. I'd worry more about that than whether she finishes or notΒ (even though we all really hope she does!).
I really enjoy The Case of the Missing Detective! I've talked with Krista a few times but she's seem to be having a few life difficulties too with things going on in the family/illness. Doing a fanart of this story could be a possibility.
I admire Tobina's dedication and hard work of courseβI see that a lot of people enjoyed her story. But to be honest I've tried to read Scars multiple times but I haven't been able to get through it. So I unfortunately don't have any inspiration for this one. Sorry! :-\

Thank you! Dying for the next chapter of both of those. I tried to get a hold of silversage but she's never responded. I haven't talked to Callie (sandman's author) in awhile so maybe she's busy too. :-\ Eh, I know how it is though.

Yeah, even Silversage's last status update was months ago. She got our hopes up but we're still waiting! XD Last I heard from Callie her beta was dealing with some life issues and was therefore busy. So she was working on her own and posted the last few chapters without revision. And while I personally think her English is pretty great for her being German, she prefers having it edited first. She told me she had a bit of a writer's block too. X.x

Yeah, Callie told me that too ^^' I really hope she's gone thought by now! She told be her beta also helped her with the story, the plotholes, the ideas and everything ^^ But as you said, her english is really good already for a non-English-native speaker (even I can see it, despite the fact that I'm also a non-English-native speaker).
About Silversage, well, all we can do is be patient and hope! I remember once, I was desperate to read the next chapters and the updated two chapters in a week! I had the feeling it was both Christmas and my birthday

I chose the character selection based on the fanfic itself. So far Kogorou has only played a very minor role. The Detective Boys have only been mentioned a few times and have been involved in the plot even less than Kogorou. I chose the composition very specifically so the characters I did draw were much more significant to the plot. The BO members are the only ones that haven't actually been mentioned as much, but from where the story is going so far, it's likely that they will be important eventually.
