Description I am so so so proud of how this came out. <3

After working so damn to re craft my love for the human heart for my first ceramics piece for my diploma of visual Arts? (I created my very first clay anatomical heart within a speed dating event last year.. which I use as a ring holder ) I hit a crushingly cruel set back.... Such failed.. ((Due to unknowingly using two differing types of clay in it's creation. -_-,)) Yet I refused to let such get the best of me and ended up crafting a heart at least 5 times bigger!! xD It is quite a heavy sculpture too, which caught me off guard a bit! (It will be interesting to see how much it actually weighs when I get the chance to.)

I can not tell you just HOW many people (fellow art students, teacher and/or strangers just walking through campus.) have come up to me and expressed their awe and amazement over this particular sculptural piece. (Lost count on how many have approached over the course of it's creation.) ~0.o~ I had a lot of 2nd semester students ask me if I was also a 2nd semester.. and they were shocked to learn that I was only in semester 1. ^^, As an artist that is not used to drawing attention?? It was uncomfortably foreign to me.... But it does feel nice to be apricated for such talents for a change. ;x;

Come next week? It would have likely been bisque fired (Hopefully it doesn't fucking explode!!! >.< Nervous about such to be honest.. Though I have crafted it in a way that it shouldn't.) Then I can proceed to apply the appropriate coloured glazes with a fine paint brush to the various portions and finish it off with a clear glaze to all of it. I have re purposed my "broken" heart (the first attempt.) as a test piece for the glazes.

For the first task? We *were* tasked with using oxide glazes... but yuck.. no.. not for this particular piece... Not my style. I have firmly stated my preference for using the proper coloured glazes for this one.. and I will use the oxides for the next task (slab work.) which doesn't really appeal to me anyhow.. so if it looks meh? I won't care as much xD I didn't pay $4'000 for this first semester to not have some creative liberties.

I have also made a "Kidney" Dish to go along with this heart (have to craft another near identical one next week.) and they too, will go through the same process. Wanted to make an anatomical collection as I still love the medical field. (Have run out of time to do a ''Brain'' bowl. ;.; aww well.. Always can do so in the future.)

Enjoy!! Please let me know what you all think! Critiques are something I am actively seeking to improve my creations as eventually, I wish to start my own business and take commissions as my career. <3
