Ashley shifted nervously on the couch, her shiny black leather dress boots creaking softly as she shuffled her feet together on the soft carpet, fidgeting a bit as she sat waiting for Tiffany to come downstairs. She couldn’t believe how nervous she was, nervous with a great sense of excitement, but also a little uncertainty. The lovely brown skinned detective let out a sigh as she stood up from the couch and smoothed out her tight dark blue dress skirt, feeling the butterflies in her stomach as she walked slowly over to a full length mirror in the foyer of Tiffany's house. She smiled briefly as the soft glow of Christmas lights illuminated her and part of the hallway, remembering the fun she and Tiffany had had decorating the house together. It was a joyful time of year, and her first Christmas experience with a significant other, so she couldn't understand why she was feeling nervous and having butterflies about the coming night.
