Background:

Amber Coleson's life began as a vat grown genetically engineered clone, known to her creators as Subject S-2. She was originally created using stolen DNA from both Crimson Valkyrie and Silver Falcon, and was genetically engineered to be an identical twin of Silver Falcon, blessed with all of her powers, none of her weaknesses, and the benefit of Crimson Valkyrie's incredible healing factor and regenerative powers. A joint project between Doctor Kotetsu and Clara Oswin, Subject S-2's original purpose was to pose as Silver Falcon and cause havoc across Steel City, ruining the heroine's reputation in the process, while also distracting Steel City's main heroes from their underlying plans as the random attacks by "Silver Falcon" soon put the city's public trust of meta-humans on a knife edge. Crimson Valkyrie and the real Silver Falcon made it their number one goal to stop Subject S-2, and over several encounters were able to deduce that she was a young woman being completely brainwashed and controlled by Doctor Kotetsu. Subject S-2's own curiosity also assisted in her breaking the villain's control over her when she began to seek out knowledge and information about the world around her. During one final climactic battle, she witnessed both Crimson Valkyrie and Silver Falcon risk harm to themselves by rescuing innocent civilians from the battle zone, who were put in danger by collateral damage from S-2's attacks. She ceased her attack and joined them in assisting the civilians, then surrendered herself to them. Seeing his evil plan ruined, Doctor Kotetsu activated a genetic fail-safe he had built into the clone, which caused her DNA to begin degrading, causing her to fall ill and slip into a coma.

Tiffany Anderson managed to use her knowledge of nano-technology, along with her background in bio-medical sciences, to stop the overall degradation of S-2's DNA, and the clone was saved. Unfortunately she lost most of her powers and abilities, and there were other medical side effects, such as the lightening of her skin and the loss of some height and muscle mass. With the SCPD announcing the capture of the rogue "Silver Falcon" and revealing that she had been a creation of the evil Doctor Kotetsu, things in the city mostly returned to normal and Silver Falcon quickly regained the public's trust with her usual bevy of heroics. Realizing that S-2 has been brainwashed and controlled by Kotetsu, the SCPD left her fate up to Crimson Valkyrie. After much deliberating and consulting with police major Maurice Foley, Tiffany and Ashley decided to adopt the young woman, allowing her to choose a name. She took on Ashley's last name to avoid any suspicion, with the cover story being that Ashley had decided to adopt. Over the next several months Amber adapted to her new life and once she was comfortable enough with her surroundings she approached her mothers and asked if she could help them in their quest for justice against the world's evils. Though initially against the idea, Ashley and Tiffany decided to give Amber a chance at being a heroine, but only after she went through extensive training with many of their friends. Amber went through several months of rigorous training, learning hand to hand combat from Spectre, while also training with Tiffany's Valkyrie sisters, who taught her to be a skilled archer. Many others had a hand in her overall training, including Katherine Barton, Astra Girl, Shadow Samurai, and Nocturne, which led to her being incredibly well rounded. Amber later assumed a "normal" lifestyle when she enrolled at SCU, where she lived with Emily Atkins and Ana Waldorf, the three friends soon forming their own superhero team as Hornette, Steel Angel, and G-Raider, under the watchful guidance of Major Foley's alter ego, the heroic Blue Steel.

Costume Description and Details:

As Hornette, Amber wears a practical costume that aids her in her battle against criminal filth. The first part of her costume is a special dark grey "under suit" that she wears beneath her main costume. It consists of a bodysuit made with the same special nanite material that Tiffany's old Crimson Dynamo uniform was created with. It is both bullet and blade proof and gives her protection against all forms of conventional weaponry, though she can still feel the kinetic energy from a physical blow through it. Over the "under suit" she wears a heavy dark purple skirt and a double breasted tunic that are both crafted from a durable synthetic leather-like material, blended with kevlar to give her additional protection. The rest of her costume accessories are the same dark purple color and include a pair of durable knee high boots, elbow length gloves with wrist gauntlets and a built in wrist computer, and an eye mask to protect her identity. Amber has a gadget laden black metallic utility belt buckled around her waist and also wears a quiver strapped to her back, the quiver containing a multitude of her special technologically advanced arrows.

Powers and Abilities:

Enhanced Physical Strength: Though most of her powers degraded, Amber still maintains a small fraction of her mother's super strength, allowing her to easily lift objects weighting up to 3 metric tons.

Enhanced Reflexes and Dexterity: The one aspect of her powers that were least affected by Kotetsu's fail-safe, Amber has incredible reflexes that surpass even those of the finest Olympic athlete or martial artist.

Heightened Senses: Amber has a heightened sense of smell and has the eye site of a hawk, allowing her to easily track her targets.

Archery: Recognizing her deft touch and incredible reflexes, the Valkyries gave Amber extensive training in archery, making her both an effective sniper and short range combatant with her bow and arrow.

Specialized Arrows: Amber carries a variety of technologically advanced, non-lethal arrows in her quiver. These range anywhere from flash bang arrows, to sonic arrows that can allow her to see the layout and enemies hiding within a small room. She also has more offensive arrows that carry stun dart tips or electrified tips that can easily incapacitate her foes.

Hand to Hand Combat: Amber was trained extensively in hand to hand combat by her mother's ally Spectre, who even taught her techniques to violently break bones and incapacitate her enemies. Though they did not want their daughter to be an overly violent fighter, both Tiffany and Ashley went the overprotective route and instructed Spectre to teach Amber everything she knew.

Advanced Parkour: With no super human travel power of her own, Amber relies on her amazing gymnastics skills and the advanced parkour techniques taught to her by her "aunt" Katherine Barton, an Interpol operative and the former world class cat burglar known as Orchid. These skills allow her to travel around the city quite quickly, as she is able to use the rooftops to her advantage for both travel and maintaining the high ground over her enemies.
