Description
The first of my close ups on the new nations in my alternate history series I'm working on. [link]either way this is the new California, one of the more better off nations, it's strong agrigultual base has led do a major comeback. Led by Upton Sinclair, the average Californian has way more rights than anyone normally would at this time. There exists a little bit of conflict between California and its neighbors Cascadia and Deseret, but due to an increase in Latino rights, enjoys a peaceful relation with Mexico.
This is set in 1940, right befiore the outbreak of The American War (off shoot of World War II fought between the nations of North America)

P.S. The name of the curency is a cross between peso and dollar.

I know, it seems to be an overlooked part of alt. history.
The different size is as a result of a very brief land grab after that fall of the union.
The color thing, just went with the map.

It's because in American History the Republic of Texas is a lot more glamorous than California. The Texans had a chance for independance. The so-called "Bear Flag Rebellion" was organized by the US to annex California.
