Me and (Vlad) submission for the Udon tribute book. Unfortunately it didn't make it in, but this piece was extremely fun to work on. The minute the tribute was announced, I talked with Vlad about the possibilities and that working on a piece together would be fantastic since collabs were welcome.

He was leaning toward doing a MM original piece, as he's less familiar with MMX. Though I worked on my own MMX piece since I'm a bigger fan of that series He came up with some thumbnails and from there on out it took us from Dec. through the deadline to work on changes and color comp, to actual color.

The original plan was to go with watercolors since it's my "specialty" but the paper that Vlad printed it on (though watercolor paper...) was not substantial enough for painting an illustration on. Thusly, I told him I would work digital and make it just as good. The end results were fantastic we both believe. We put in some great teamwork on this and even though not making it in is disheartening we learned that we can work together with no problems on a piece of art.

Vlad particularly chose these robot masters for the picture, since they were really his favorite. Plus they're elementals mostly so it worked out.

I spent a lot of time listening to MMX while working on this LOL. Despite it being a MM original... the color scheme made me identify more with MMX which is what I was kinda going for. Though Vlad's vision of the colors were more based of the MM10 promotional poster haha.
