week 25 subject medusamedusa was basically a virgin priestess of one of athena's temples,she was also a stunning beauty that even aphrodite envied.she was so beautiful that when Poseidon the god of the ocean saw her he had to have her to the point that he raped her.her punishment from athena for being raped by the god of the ocean her uncle was to be cursed that any man to ever lay eyes on her would be turned to stone and be made into the creature that we all know today as "medusa".
been battling an art slump/block all week hopefully with this am able to shake it off
this illustration is just her getting revenge starting with Poseidon .

this illustration was for a battle over at where the subject was medusa.i do have a future story that has to do with the olympian gods and what not,but god knows when ill be getting to that.hopefully you stay with me anyway ,it be a shame to lose such a pretty face...

I love this.... Not to pick on you, but you ever notice that when people do Medusa statue-izing people they always do the clothing to... Happens in the movies, cartoons, and books.

that thought actually past my mind when i was coloring and i contemplated several times not stoning the armor and cape but in the end i just decided on going the traditional route and making everything stone.thanx and thanx for the look and comment.

I love the piece, the colors are brilliant...all I can say is that I wish I could see a Poseidon pre-petrification! That is one of the coolest designs for the God of the Sea ever!

thanx i been reading Greek mythology since i was a kid.i actually read a version of this story that Aphrodite was the one that put Poseidon on to Medusa out of jealousy knowing what he would do to her and that she would be punished by Athena.talk about a hater lol

i've read versions where Aphrodite simply was jealous of her beauty and cursed her herself.

Refreshing statement and good to see you "battle" on through that. because when you get your gig at wherever those dayz will still come. great illo bro. the only thing i would say is the shadows from Poseidon hand to medusa get blurred together cause they are so close to being the same (his hand and his shadow...but that's minor...on medusa herself very nice face love that highlight on her jaw, and the emotion evoked from her facial expression and eyes closed...she looks like she is remembering what this bastard took from her....it also doesn't hurt that you gave her a ridiculous Donk on her as well....she could be in a Luke video.... good showing here bro. Keep the heat coming cause ya got a list of people hungry and positioning themselves to walk on water....(is this flame bait to get to evoked ???)

now ramel you of all people should know that am pretty humble since you interviewed me.of course i go through days ware i cant even draw a stick figure just like every other artist.i can usually break out of a slump pretty easy but its just harder when you have to draw for someone else.basically meaning this or the 2 commissions i owe right now that i have to get to.am happy you noticed medusa's assets lol,i have done alot of research in my life to attain those skills.as for this list i dont see them,theyy must have sank when they tried to walk on water.me i dont have no list.how many more undefeated people can i beat?
