Mixed Media, 4"x6" 2017Also an experiment; this has pan pastel, Bombay ink, and acrylic mediums and paints all layered together. There's a breakdown of what I did to it over on my Patreon !

wonderful work! I don't know many of your media (like Bombay ink - what is it? or pan pastel - ?) result is stunning for sure. I like contrast of bright background right behind owl and owl itself.

Bombay is Dr. PH Martin's line of colored India inks (like this ). They've got very intense colors and are waterproof when dry. Pan pastels (here ) are soft pastels, but instead of being in stick form, they're in pans like watercolor. You still use them dry but they are much softer than the sticks, so they handle differently. That yellow behind the owl is pastel (along with the base greens and browns, but most of the rest has other stuff on top of it, too).
