Encaustic mixed media, each 6"x6" 2016

More playing with different things in wax. The one on the left, which is actually number 11, got scraped off and rewaxed several times before I was happy enough to leave it alone. It originally had a drawing much like its mate, but somewhere in the first bout of waxing, shellacking and burning, too much of the wax melted and smoked up the paper. I tried to save it, but I never liked it ... so I covered it over completely. Number 10 turned out much like I anticipated, although the shellac phase still misbehaved a bit.
