I'm fascinated by Frollo. I don't quite know why.

I've never read the original novel, nor do I own it. However, I do think I've seen someone on here attempting to illustrate the entire thing...

It's worth reading, I'm telling you.
Attempting to illustrate the WHOLE thing?? Really?.. Omg have any clue where I might find that someone? 'Cause I've been browsing dA for ages, I should have seen *something*.
Still, you're too good. Your sketch is very expressive and dynamic, and it has the depth that Notre Dame de Paris requires.

Yes, ~Mize-meow has, beginning with [link] . I believe it's a slow-going project, but the art is pleasant styalistically and is consistant.
Anyway, thank you for the compliment and suggestion.

Wonderful work!! Great nose and eyes.

I understand you perfectly, also I'm fascinated by Frollo ..I love his character in the book, in the film versions, in the Disney movie, in the musical....and I cannot rationally explain why! XD

I hope you'll do other Frollo fanart.

I'm trying to think about it. Is it possibly because he is such a human character? I think I get a lot out of his character despite the self-righteous Pharisee that he is; I think I kind of relate to that - that one would think he would have everything sorted, but really he is just as much prone as anyone. And also, I think in many of the characters I am drawn to, that is a recurring theme; an internal battle, a conflicted spirit, a divided heart. Characters that want to follow the right path but are pulled this way and that by feelings, reasoning and logic, and a sense.

Thoughts? I'd love to crack this thing. XD

Ah, yes, I agree....I love human characters, even if they are often classified as the villains of the story....some of my favourite are Frollo, Raistlin Majere, Doctor Doom and the Phantom of the Opera.

I think it's because they're not really evil,it's not that they are born that way: the lives and the experiences they have had had made them the men they are....I have noticed that many times the villains are more realistic characters because they have more human reactions and emotions; they always have a tragic past, are mocked and isolated due to their intelligence, power or look.
We can understand them better because there is something of us in each of them.
