Description
I originally created this piece several months back to use as a banner for Patreon. After making the page, I kept putting off actually doing anything with it because I was always so busy and never had the energy for it, so I've come to the conclusion that now isn't the right time for me to do Patreon.
Looking at this with fresh eyes, there are some errors that jump out at me - the light source is really ambiguous/not physically likely, for instance, and there are some stylistic clashes between elements of the scene - but I did and do feel a strong sense of achievement about this piece. I enjoy geometric 3D minimalism, for instance, and the mountain has that feel to me. I also don't draw people very often because I feel like I'm really bad at it. While these are very simple, stylized people, that's a stylistic choice that I enjoy. I should probably get more practice with more detailed figures at some point, though.
Looking at this is reminding me that it's been a while since I did any digital art. I love watercolor, but I think I want to add more digital art into my creation rotation.
