Personality:

Sohka is known to have quite the lip on him. Suspicious of strangers, he's never one to hide how he feels about a person. He's a rough kid, and a rash one, having a bad habit of rushing ahead into battle. However, he's not a bad kid. Though he butts head with Kaiya over numerous things, the two have been gradually building on the bond that exists between master and disciple. He understands to a point that because he's green, they treat him like a kid. But he's never far from showing a bit of a rebellious streak. He's deathly afraid of his sponsor, the hydreigon known as Wakasa, and is typically unable to handle strong willed women. A little naive, he can be comically fooled to the point of exploitation, though his guardians are quick to save him from it. He's constantly trying to bring pets home to the dojo, claiming to be a poke-whisperer of some kind. Unfortunately, Kaiya has yet to give in to the idea of keeping a pet around.

History:

Despite his questionable beginnings, Sohka Iwatani is a boy of many dreams. He wants to be strong, and to be respected. At first, he was something to be feared. Appearing out of no where, the people who found him did not know what to do with him. He was alone, battered, with only a black katana to call his own. While it was discussed to possibly be rid of the child, a hydreigon woman would step forward to claim the boy.

Her name, was Wakasa.

When Kaiya was exiled, the last to see him off was Wakasa. Beside her was the boy, only now he sported a name - Sohka Iwatani. Wakasa made her orders clear, that Kaiya was to be his master, and teach him, all that he had been taught before by Wakasa. Without much information, the hydreigon would go, leaving behind the two to build their own relationships.

It would take a while, but they worked things out.

Kind of.

Though Kaiya would not find himself alone when it comes to raising Sohka.

Additional information:

- Despite being under Kaiya's care for only a few months, he greatly respects the cacturne for his power.

- It is implied he was "raised" by Wakasa before he was handed over to Kaiya's care. But it is also implied that not all is what it seems.

- Sohka likes to make small plush toys when they're on the road. Kaiya calls them lame though, and are a source of many arguments.

- He is greatly attached to his black katana. Though nothing has been said for this conclusion, he believes it might have belonged to his father.

- He is scared of Arok, even if the hydreigon claims to be his only relative. But he lets her believe whatever mainly because he doesn't want to set her off.
