Oh, I looooove this. There's something about that kind of clinical precision he's using here that is unbearably sexy. And I also love the way she's so transfixed by what he's doing. (And I bet he hasn't got the first clue who transfixed she is, either.)

SS/HG go steam punk! What happend to your Photoshop? I got one and have been hacking at cosplay photos again. I wish I could find a lab scene...
As I learn this I realized how critical shading and shadows are.

This is masterful and mesmerizing! WOW! I can not stop staring...I could carry on for days. The details and perspective are astonishing, and brilliantly rendered! There is so much here, it's hard to know where to start...
Hermione - Her expression is a delight! As Meg said, "rapt" is the perfect description, and is also reflected in her neck stretched long and her hands grasping the work table. Her body posture is so expectant, I can feel her coiled tension. I imagine that she has been sitting quietly far beyond her natural ability to do so, so intent is she on remaining by her man's side, quite likely acting as his assistant, and eager witness to his brilliance and breakthrough (who knows, perhaps it was her idea in the first place!). She looks ready to leap at any moment. And I love her snood! Hee!
Severus - His hair pulled back, his rolled up shirtsleeves, his buttoned up neck - so perfect! You know he walked into the lab elaborately garbed in his many layers, and had to peel them away as he delved ever deeper into his experiment. Loooooove the apron toolbelt. It communicates so much - masculinity, innovation, skill. He is so still in his precision, such a strong, steady arm holds the wand - is the peg going in or coming out? - yet he and the burner's flame are the only things in motion here, holding the attention of all. Like Hermione, we're on the edge of our seat, anxious to know the answer. And then there are his magnifying goggles, his sculpted cheekbone and nose, his bitable bottom lip. Unbelievable!!!
The tools and equipment are just fantastic! There is something so primitive about the saw, mallet, knives and open vise on the worktable. Tools we all know from basic woodworking. But then there is the magical element: the tiny cauldron, the potions vials (wonderfully transparent), the wand waiting in readiness.
I don't know if you use source images to come up with so many intriguing elements, or you just have the most stunningly detailed imagination, but either way, you are awe-inspiring!!!
AMAZING!!!!!!!
(Okay, who's writing the story for this one???? Show of hands, please!)

I love the rolled up sleeves, the tied back hair, the tool belt! He looks so intense about whatever he is working on, and that makes me feel like frantically trying to distract him!

I have to say, that I see them working on their Steampunk outfits! hahahahah. LOOOOOVE it, as always. Even with a hurt hand, this is great. And sometimes, no colouring is the perfect thing. (although i would just DIE with out my photoshop. In fact, my 7.0 got so slow and bad, that I am using an 'illegal' CS. Which is in ALL german, just so I can have photoshop.)

I echo Lariope! Love love love this one!
Again, with the stunning detail. Woman! You slay me.
But it's his tool belt/apron thingy... I don't know what it is, but I keep staring at it. It's so... sexy and manly, or something! I don't know! And his nose, good god!
People always say hands are the most difficult to draw, but you seem to do it effortlessly, and make them look elegant. Hermione's on the table, both of his? Mmm...
And I so love the tied-back hair, you probably know that already. Got a bit of the steampunk about this one, I think!
Okay, that's enough for the novel I've written you here, LOL!!!! Hope I made myself clear! (oh, and sorry about your finger -- that really sucks! you know what would help, if you let the Potions master suck on it for a while)

my friend's sister is ambidextrous and its odd, because she starts writing with one hand then finishes her line with the other hand.
