- HISTORY: Malcom grew up on the outskirts of Saffron city, an only child living with his parents in their comfortable suburban home. When he was 18 he got a job as a rookie journalist in Saffron, and he gradually worked his way up the ladder until he was one of the lead reporters for the Saffron Times. Eventually, though, he grew tired of the city and transferred to a major paper in Poketopia. It was there that he met Sasha, a lovely Vulpix girl that he fell deeply in love with. She owned a local pub that, while charming, was suffering on the business end. They eventually began dating and she offered him a partnership in her business, along with their friend Jack (a Zoroark). The pub prospered, Mal left the reporting business behind, and everything was quite happy for almost two years; when one day, Jack and Sasha disappeared. The note she left behind apologized and explained that she had fallen in love with Jack, and that they had decided to elope.
Malcom was broken hearted when she left, and the Pub (The FireFox) suffered for it for some months, until he finally pulled himself back together and got things running again. By this time he was 25 years old. He kept the pub going for another three years before he finally sold it, making quite the profit from the sale of the prosperous establishment, and decided to exchange a lifetime of big city living for something different. The little town of Pokette struck his fancy, so he packed up his things and moved, deciding that instead of serving beer, he would brew it, and sell it to bars in Poketopia to keep up a steady income. He decided to call his new beer 'Firedog Brand'
