There is not enough love for Medieval Ages. And they were not that dark (a lot of pratical inventions were made - more than during Renaissance actually, pffff...).

Practical inventions that had been made in acient times already and just got lost xD
But "dark ages" is a term for a time from which we have no corpus of finds and no literature. Once there was a dark age in the ancient times and later in the early medieval ones. As we don't know anything about these years, the question to draw yourself in these times is a bit... stupid.

Well, they were lost, weren't they ? And got re-invented, which means Medieval people were no less inferior to the Ancient civilisations so revered by the Renaissance period. U_U
When I speak of "Dark Ages", it often makes reference to the period beginning right after the collapsing of Rome.
