Frustrated by his constant failing to succeed in his chosen profession, would-be stage actor Frank Darman becomes the master criminal!

From the pages of Kurt Busiek's and Alex Ross' superhero anthology series ASTRO CITY, he became one of the primary nemeses of the original clown-like crimefighter Jack-In-The-Box. Both are intended as a tribute to the work of comics legend Steve Ditko (creator of Spider-Man).

It is later discovered that, after contracting cancer from a heist of poisonous chemicals, Mr. Drama kills himself and the first Jack-In-The-Box in an explosion ( originally believed to be the work of The Underlord ). This revelation proves shocking news to Darman's granddaughter, who launches attacks against the third Jack-In-The-Box in her persona as the Drama Queen!
