Description well, people keep asking me how I do them and so, so here's the making of "Pet Platypus" .

thin wire, beads
the design of this bead animal is NOT by me! I used a pattern model, which is (c) Ingrid Moras.

Owwww it's cute ^^ I have a question What have You done with that wires in legs ? Where have you put them ? ^^''

cuddlefactor In reply to Trekus [2007-11-14 13:23:56 +0000 UTC]

I just inserted them into the bead row.
hmm. that sounded dumb... okay. I first do the normal bead row, like pictures in the tut, and then, before I pull tight, I slip oin another extra wire so that it stands out on both sides.
...
was that clear?

Ok well you might not reply fast enough to this but anyway, is there certain beads and wire that you use? Because I'm probably going to Michaels today and see if there are beading equipment there, I just need to know what kind of supplies. Thanks for your help!

okay. I use beads size 2mm and wire... I dunno the wire size. as thin as you can get.

Well it was a little late but I just got some 30ft tiger tail wire, I'm not sure about the size of it and I got just some normal glass beads(4 colors). I hope it will work with those supplies I'll probably start today, I just need a pattern to work from. Where can I find the patterns that you get from Ingrid Moras(I think thats her name ), I just need the snake one, or maybe a macaw, they seem the easiest to start with. Adding on feet seems really hard. Thanks a lot!

Whoa, I've never seen 3D bead-weaving stuff before! This looks cool, but understanding the diagram looks a bit hard. I don't have wire or THAT many colours of beads (I'm so jealous ), but I'll be sure to try this sometime.

cuddlefactor In reply to aneesah [2006-12-13 18:43:27 +0000 UTC]

when I realized that the shop I used to buy the beads was closing down, I bought at least one of every colour there, plus enough wire to last me for a century at least. so naturally it looks like many colours...
