Description I half wasn't going to post this but I think it may come in useful for someone somewhere out there in cyber space, plus theres a new sub section in 'tutorials' especially for 'artisan crafts'

I guess this a bit more of a tip than a tutorial but I have talked through steps to make your own beading needle as I have found it virtually impossible to string beads using normal/bought needles......

Also I'm almost out of butane which means no more soldering until I buy more plus I broke my saw (i did buy a new cheap one which is awful to use) and I haven't received the crochet cotton I ordered I'm at a loss for what to do *sigh*

You just made my beading universe glow with happiness and you may have just inspired a new paint.net piece of art. Awesome tip. Thank you. Now I need to go make that glowing bead universe and post it here on DA.

You know, at the moment I'm hitting my head at table, because I just had this moment when I ask myself "Why didn't I think of that?". And I call myself a beader.. -.-' But anyway thanks for the tip, it is indeed appecriated (how do you spell that? o.O) because I just broke my one and only needle that could go trough any bead but your tutorial saved my day. Thanks

Thanks for the tip! I thought if a nylon string worked too in a similar way..

While it may seem like a simple tip... I've never thought of doing this. And how simple cheap and easy! If you lose it... you don't have to worry about how much you paid for it because it's just a little piece of wire.

Thank you so much for posting this! I'm really started to get interested in artisan crafts, and I'm sure that at some point this will be a huge help!

thats a great way of doing it! thanks for the tutorial
another option is to go to the drug store and buy some of those "floss threaders" for people with braces, they're kind of like thin, bendy, plastic needles, and the eye is really big too (roughly the diameter of a dime) but it bends in. You can get them at wal-mart too lol. I know this because I have braces
Hooray for Orthodontics! XD

Thanks for the tip! I think I have seen even needles with elastic eye for easier threading, but I don't rememebr where.

Wow, such a coincidence that I found this! I don't have a proper beading needle either, and my smallest sewing needle can't fit some seed beads, so I've been beading my thread manually, which is a true pain. I'm not sure I have such thin wire, but I'll find something to use. Thanks!!

yes, you can purchase needles like this - you may have to ask, i know my local store keeps them behind the counter cause they're so easy to loose!

as a fanatic beader and with a fav media of the smallest of the smallest (jap seedbead #15) i reckon any beadshop will sell you a size 12 bead needle. they often look at me as if im crazy but yes this needle combined with a fine wire (i can look up the brand for you if you want) works a treat! i can always manage going through a size 15 bead about 3 times with that wire and needle... so you should have no problem
your tut is btw is a good one... however i have seen it in a lot of beadingbooks before still reckon that if acces to a beadshop is difficuld its a great idea and i bet some devwatchers will put it to good use
