Dendrelaphis kopsteini.

Kopstein's Bronzeback is a very elegant and slender snake of intermediate size and does occur in the southern region of Thailand. Although being very similar to other Bronzebacks in appearance, the Kopstein's Bronzeback can be easily distinguished from all other species for having a reddish neck which is especially visible when the snake puffs it up laterally as a defense display.

Probably rear-fanged yet harmless, this snake is diurnal and feeds mainly on lizards. This species of Dendrelaphis was named in honour of Austrian-Dutch naturalist and physician Felix Kopstein who contributed a lot to the knowledge of Southeast-Asian snakes in general.
