The Sawtoothed-Neck Bronzeback is an exquisitely patterned, large snake of the Dendrelaphis genus that occurs in the western and southwestern parts of Thailand.
Fully described and declared a separate species only in 2012, it can be easily identified by a pattern that resembles a dark sawtooth running along its body, which is quite a unique view among Bronzebacks.
Like most Bronzebacks, it is diurnal and preys on lizards and amphibians. Its latin epithet derives from the words "niger" (black) and "serrare" (to saw), literally referring to the sawtooth pattern on its neck.
