For some reason I like this. A lot.
I'd been out in the dark and taken some pictures (that were waay too dark) and when I lightened them up parts of them turned out cool.
The quote roughly translates to "Mr. Karlsson surely understands that I can't take in every civilian tramp that comes here and says he should be detained"
hrm, sounds a lot better in swedish, because the grammar is the one used in sweden in the 1940's.
This is kinda political I guess. In sweden we had "internment camps" for communists (and other people deemed as unreliable) between 1939 and 1943. All documentation was burned when the camps closed and today few people know that they ever existed, even if the men who sat in them had a hard time getting any jobs after the war since they still had a brand of unreliability on them. None of them ever got any compensation or excuse for this.
I think what I want to say is that little sweden was not as innocent as many swedes like to think today and we shouldn't be so damned proud of our past. But then again this is a country where people are afraid to celebrate the national day because they are afraid that someone will think they are racist, perhaps that past lives in our subconcious...

Oh, and the quote was said by the camp leader to one of the communists that had been ordered to appear at the camp to be interned. There's more to the story but I feel that I've spoken too much already - and I've not even begun talk on the compulsory sterilizations, but that's another story.

Anyway, this picture kinda captures one part of my mixed feelings towards my homeland.
