Download for larger view.This was supposed to be James, though for some reason nothing turned out right. The hair was too long, the jacket too loose and his demeanor too...calm, I suppose. I finally gave it a second look and realized I was drawing Henry instead.
It was kinda' creepy.

This drawing is awesome. The proportions and everything look just right to me. One suggestion I have is that you make Henry's outline a bit darker or something like that 'cause his hair sort of blends in with the wall.

What the heck. I never got a chainsaw with Henry...I wish he would do that stupid scream James did, though.
And thank you! I took me awhile to get the hands right, but I wanted to make sure it flowed properly...and I noticed about the hair, but I didn't want to rely on a dark outline. You think a lighter one would detract from it or should I just darken the background in some manner?

I was wondering how do you colour like that? It's so soft~ Did you reduce the opacity or reduce the hardness?

It's opacity mainly- I normally use about 25% or less for main coloring. Shadows I'll do more opaque and then erase until the consistency is even....or just cover with the same color at 10% until it blends well. Er...I'm not actually completely sure what I'm doing really. I just mess around until it looks alright. XD

I do really wanna learn the soft colour technique... Yeah, I got used to using hard colour technique. I do really admire people who knows soft colour technique~ I'd been google it to find out this kind of technique but I couldn't find any...
