Here is another early concept sketch from the Rankin Bass TV series ThunderCats, this one featuring the Sword of Omens.According to the text, "The Sword of Omens grows to the size of a jet liner and carries the ThunderCats to safety."

That could be Tygra with a cape. Maybe they thought he could hang glide from the flying sword.

Haha that might be. I originally thought it was Jaga but judging from the other characters present and the silhouette of the head it must be Tygra.

This is highly intriguing stuff you're posting here. The sword's finished version did "grow the size of a jet liner" to help Jaga beat Grune in "The Ghost Warrior." :3
