you have now mistaken - Piper knows plants rather well and she knows how to deal even with poisonous or dangerous plants - so she's not especially curious over toxic plants - but all plants in general

Piper is extremely easy to sneak upon because when she is focused on something she barely notices anything else around her and being so naive she wouldn't come to think of the possibility of someone or something wanting to hurt her ....
