I think I have a fetish with mouths. It seems to be the most seductive and expressive part of the face to me. I'm in love with the title of this piece.

my only beef is that the background should've been burned in darker, so it wasn't so visible.
other than that, great composition, usage of line, following the hair to the necklace, great tone on the lips, and great texture everywhere.

that nad if you are going to use a black backdrop like that and a dark sweater...use a spotlight as a back/hair light so you can see good detail on the sweater.

either fix the background or reshoot it with a better depth of field so that the bg is properly blurred...and thats a hot sweater.

Well, first off, regarding your description, all I can say is, "well, with a mouth like YOURS, no wonder!"
But I'm feeling on another planet about this one. Yeah, I see the positive possibility here, that the lipstick has been smeared in passion...
But I see a MUCH darker interpretation as well, and honestly it's much more prominent to me... I see this as a frankly upsetting image.
So I'm torn between the possibilities, but cannot help but lean toward the one that is much more powerful but, alas, much more sad.

i love this. the title reminds me of the theme of the portfolio i'm working on, sort of a photo documentary of sorts about what it's like to be a girl around 16-19. i almost titled it "what it feels like for a girl" but i went with "her red self." anyway, i'm getting way off topic; what i basically wanted to say is that i love the composition and also the way that there is the blank space in the left, the lipstick is smeared toward the left, her hair is toward the left... it all goes together nicely.

I think you're creating a lip/mouth fetish for me... Your skin appears to be pretty hot here... While it does help accentuate the lips, a little bit of tone there wouldn't hurt.

Everything looks very eye-catching... but I love the fact that the mouth isn't exactly at the center nor on any point of the thirds rule. It breaks the balance, the symetry and everythig.

just added your mom to my DevWatch, by the way...to the photo...you really created a masterful vision of expressive & emotive photography with this capture...the cropping adds so much to the overall feel of the piece as if to pull the viewer in by its mystique - i love the tones & contrasts here as well - very striking...i am also awestruck by the ways in which your hair moves across your neck (a nice touch) - the "FULL" view is the way to look at this as with all DA art - And, of course, the great center piece of this capture are your full & beautiful lips and the way in which the lipstick is smeared - really the defining moment of it all i would say....yes, i am a great lover of lips as well as eyes...all in all, one of, if not, your BEST submission to date

Mouths are definately sexy and seductive. Eyes can be too though - the only problem is eyes can carry too much weight into who someone is when all you want to do is kiss them. I love the shot and how it's off-centered.
