Description

Forged from 80CrV (A high-carbon steel alloy), this knife features black-dyed curly maple handle scales, nickel silver pins, and piercework decoration.

This was a donation piece to a recent (and quite successful) fundraising event for a local oratorio choir based in New Haven, CT.

For those who are interested, here is their YouTube page:Β www.youtube.com/user/NewHavenO…

The sheath here is really only meant to be a temporary measure for transport purposes. This was just to make sure that the future owner and I don't slash our hands open before the knife found a permanent home. I'm pretty pleased with the design, however, I might make more like this to show off blade details.

That is beautiful. The sheath completes it!

Thank you, I'm very pleased with the design as well. Like I said, it's not really suited for long-term storage because so much of the blade is left exposed, but it does offer a nice opportunity to compliment the blade itself and show off the designs.

Also, if you have a beautiful knife like that, what the hell is it doing in storage!?

Ha, good point! All I really meant was that the knife should live in a big knife block when not in use, instead of covered up in a drawer or something like that.

Very beautifully done. What do you expect it to go for at the auction?

Thank you. I listed it as having a value of $350 (which frankly was a bit lower than it should have been) and the auction started at half the listed value, so the one bidder got an extraordinary deal on this one. I was hoping it would go for more because it was all for fundraising purposes.

That was a beautiful piece of work and I am so sorry it did not go for the price you had hoped for.

I look forward to your next blade.

Thank you. I would have liked to see it go for more simply to raise more money, but a friend of mine ended up buying it, so I didn't feel too bad
