I definitly was horribly upset when they decided he needed to have a sexy voice. The evil nerd voice was so perfect. SO PERFECT. IT FITS HIM.
Yeahhh, he's trying to out-do Zhang He.

But his voice doesn't fit to what he's wearing D: I mean, evil nerd voice plus frilly pink-purple gown.... I can't solve the equation D8

The joke between my sister and I is that his frilly gown is actually the dress Zhuge Liang sent him during Wu Zhang Plains.. and he was a little too nerdy/dumb to realize it was a ploy, and threw it on.
...maybe we should draw this one day.

I agree. My favorite character from DW were Zhang He and Sima Yi (whom which I am still loyal to today) I think his voice got hotter over the years and damn he just got plain sexy.
Zhang He has always been sexy so that doesn't count but who in the frick decided to give Zhang He a stick?! Seriously?!

He had the spear for the PS3 version. When they rereleased it for the PS2, they gave him back the claws.

I didn't know about the weapon change, only playing DW5.
I made a Sima Yi custom character on Soul Calibur III, and it's wierd that with the class I chose, I can choose both his DW5 weapon (Steel Fan discipline) and his DW6 weapon (Soul of Voldo discipline). I was a bit lucky there
Buuut I ranted again, didn't I?

i liked sima's voice acotr in dw5 and 6, but in 5 the character design of sima didnt go well with the voice, i think in his 6 form he would suit it well

This is hilarious! I know you don't know me, but I love your Dynasty Warriors comics; they're so entertaining. XD
And I agree about it being stupid that Zhou Yu now has a pole, instead of a sword; it does seem gay.. never thought of it was a stripper pole, until now, though. lol
Then again, I've always thought that Zhou Yu does look gay, so I guess it fits with him fighting like he's gay.
And, I have to say, I agree with you about Sima Yi's voice in DW5; a lot of people complained about it, but I liked it. I thought it was way more suiting of his character, actually. It was unique, too, which was nice... the low, darker sounding voice that he had in DW4 just seemed too cliche for "evil" characters.. granted, I liked that voice, too, though. ^^

Nerd Sima Yi will always be a GOD in my book XD
And seriously, Zhou Yu had potential. I've seen sketches for other outfits he could have had... and why, oh why, did the settle on this?

Haha... exactly! Although, I see him as sort of an evil genius.. mixed with a nerd. lol XD
Yeah... I wonder the same thing. Then again, they made A LOT of changes to that game that I have to wonder what, exactly, they were thinking when they decided to make those changes... for example, the majority of the characters being "clones" of other characters, and being playable in Free Mode, only. That annoyed me. >.<
...Good thing Koei seems to be cleaning up the mistakes that they made in Dynasty Warriors 6 for Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires, though, from what I've seen from the game, so far.

Ah yes, even the DW6 port for the PS2 was an improvement. Zhang He got his claws back, atleast! Sure, he was so tall it was hard to hit people, and it wasn't the same moveset I've always loved... but dammit, he got claws! That's all I need in life!
π: 0 β©: 1
corruptangel315 In reply to cutepiku [2009-01-30 05:39:26 +0000 UTC]
lol Exactly! I was happy about that. XD Although, I was frustrated that they didn't allow the "Special" version of DW6 to be added to the PS3 and Xbox 360 as downloadable content for the original DW6.. I own an Xbox 360, but I also own a PS2, so I could've bought the PS2 port of DW6... but I didn't; from what I saw, it was a major downgrade in graphics, and they took away the ability to swim. So, as much as I want to play as the "de-cloned" characters, I haven't, yet.
At least there's hope with Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires, though. ^^
π: 0 β©: 1
cutepiku In reply to corruptangel315 [2009-01-30 05:42:37 +0000 UTC]
Well, only 6 of them have been decloned. And yes, no swimming, but it's not a huge loss.
My only problem with the port is the game was created for the PS3, so there is a lot of slow down. Fighting hordes is a tad difficult in slow-mo XD

corruptangel315 In reply to cutepiku [2009-01-30 06:21:44 +0000 UTC]
lol Speaking of swimming... me and my brother had this cheap way to kill the super-hyper Zhang Fei that was guarding the bridge on that one level (the name escapes me, right now). We could trick him into jumping off of the ledge he was standing on, and down into the river... in which case, we'd jump off after him, while on horseback, and proceed to attack him while he was swimming for the shore. It was funny, because, he couldn't fight back; all he could do was swim while we were attacking him. XD
And yeah, I heard that only 6 of them were de-cloned... I'm hoping that, on Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires, that all of the characters will be de-cloned, and some (if not all) of the cut characters will return. Meng Huo has already been revealed to be returning, so hopefully that's a sign. Plus, the Edit Mode on DW6: Empires looks to have improved greatly compared to the past DW: Empires games. ^^
Hmm... yeah, I heard that DW6: Special had major lag... that was always so annoying in the previous DW games; fighting hordes of soldiers, only to have some of them disappear, as well as the game going into slow motion... I remember that it was particularly annoying when playing 2 player with my brother.. officers would disappear right in the middle of fighting them, only to suddenly re-appear and kill me and/or my brother (mind you, this was on Chaos difficulty).
So, yeah... annoying. XD

corruptangel315 In reply to cutepiku [2009-01-30 18:17:19 +0000 UTC]
lol Well, you have to make sure you're on a horse when you jump down after him... that's the only way that you can attack him while in the water; otherwise, you'll just be swimming with him and not be able to attack him. XD
Haha... he kinda scared me, too; mainly because it's such a huge change from what I'm used to with his other DW character designs.. then again, I like his new look; he FINALLY looks like the fierce, strong Nanman king that he should be.. I think all of the other designs for him on the previous DW games made him look too ridiculous; too.. comical. lol But it was funny, don't get me wrong.
Oh, and I'm anxious to see what the Nanman levels look like in Dynasty Warriors 6; should be interesting, I think. ^^
lol I miss making fun of Jiang Wei, too... well, him and Zhuge Liang. I mean, am I (well, my brother too; and a couple of my friends) the only one who noticed that those two act like they're, like, obsessed with one another? Especially Zhuge Liang when he first meets Jiang Wei in Dynasty Warriors 5... creepy. I seem to remember the line "Your eyes... like windows to your soul. At last, I have found you." O.O
But, anyway... it's been fun discussing Dynasty Warriors with you. lol The only friends that I have that actually like the games live a state away from me, and I don't get to see them that often.. and my brother used to like the games, too, but now, not so much; he's more of a "Halo" freak. lol >.<

I love this comic series of yours, it's so cute! 8D
And, wow, I thought the exact same "stripper pole" thing when I first saw Zhou Yu's new design! He's such a slut, you can't help but think it XD
Also, I agree with you in regards to Sima Yi's voice. I can't get used to him having a deep, sexy voice o___o His voice in DW5 was amazing. It made me laugh.
