Well, what can I say about this movie. One of my all time favorites, a real classic.Just wanted to do an Alien creature only for fun, and end it up with this piece.
QUESTION(s): what do you think of my 'new' traditional style? do you like it? or do prefer my usual digital stuff?

Nice! And personally, I like the colorful art-deco style.
It's a different and refreshing interpretation of an admittinglyΒ burned-out subject matter.

i'm not sure about the art deco graphics, but solely for the art i think it's cool!
one only nitpick: since it has all a realistic vibe, you need to draw also the real spacesuit
are the colors all with airbrush?

Haha thank you man! No airbrush, just lot of splatts (with an old toothbrush), watercolor pencils and Ecoline water colors

I love this. This was the first movie to really scare the shit out of me as a kid and I think you captured the essence of it perfectly. I think you did a fantastic job on Kane finding the egg as well as the xenomorphs behind him. I especially love the way you incorporated the Alien title into the framing. Really I can not say enough good things about this piece. :iconclappinplz:

I must say, I don't like the "new" traditional style, I LOVE it. You have a wonderful blend of retro and contemporary, eliciting memories of the best of the old but with a fresh new take. I love traditional media, ain't no school like the old school. Great stuff.

hahaha YESSS!!! Oh man so great! You've captured the intense nature of this series so well... well what I remember of it at least, I honestly haven't watched them since I was like 7. I have no idea if this was intentional, but I really really really love the color fade below the lineart. The sense of awe and wonderment of the mysterious alien egg is embodied by the rainbow effect around it and the cold dark stark dread of the forbearing alien behind represented as a stick black and blue and white. Very nice!
I honestly loved your digital work but I am far more excited whenever I see you post lately, your traditional skills are stupendous! Now I gotta openly admit I really have a strong bias since Moebious is one of my favorite illustrators and you clearly have your influence showing with these traditional works as of late... but regardless they are stupendous. If I have one bit of constructive criticism about the whole process it is keep it up, and always keep in mind to develop your own style stronger. The reasons Moebious was so astounding was he was putting our art that nobody else was, yeah some influences were the same and some framing was the same, but it was way outta left field in so many rights> You are insanely talented, and I want to constructively criticize your work in an effort to continue your development as a unique and immediately recognizable illustrator and artist.
