I was struggling whether I liked this or the Hermanito-photo better. I ended up liking this more. Maybe because of the pidgeons. For me they make this shot, it'd be rather empty without. But I also like this guy here, how he's casually sitting there and going on with his business, bouncing up when someone considers buying one of his works. Neat. And sunny.

Another great shot. How weird that he owns so much stuff and moves it everyday with him. It would be interesting to talk to the guy while he was drawing. Although he may be a bit crazy and you might not get much out of him. Anyways ya awesome shot love the pidgeons in the background flying about gives a nice motion to the shot.

Interesting character study. The pigeons really make it. Love his huge shades in the Cali sun. Venice?

Had some good times in Venice, like the Lenny Bruce Tribute Concert with the Mother's of Invention, where they got this big feedback going, dropped their guitars and walked of stage in tribute. 1969 clips still in my memory cache, mate. Ahh!

I like how this guy has created his space there.

Great photo, I can see me being that man someday. Its weird how the choices we make affect who we become. He may not have a 9-5 job, or a family, but I bet he is happy. Or maybe just conent?

I'm pretty sure you got a nice candid shot of Jesus, too; walking on the water in the background.

Living like that must be both good and bad... Devoting yourself to creating art, but having to live on the streets...

ok, of course I've commented the wrong one... well!
I was saying that you like when the whites are white... it's really the american way, having a lot more whites and greys than the europeans (on b&w film photos). I think there is too much going on... Even though that's kind of the point of it : showing all the stuff that this guy has and all the pigeon that follows him, they are like a part of his life or something similar. but still too much for me, maybe if it was taken from farther away, I don't know?!

in a way i envy him,
great shot

I really had to full view this to see what I was looking at. That's nasty. Could you imagine living like that. That would sure be the shits... especially with all the pigeon shit.

very isolated feel. When I see these people I think of the true artists out there. sure, theyre doing it soley for profit but theyre at the bottom of it all and they choose to create. I respect these people.
