Description i'm sure this hulking mass of cowboy would have kicked my blue-state ass back to los angele international if he knew i was making a sneaky photo.

i'm sure.

guys who dress up like this, though, it makes me wonder if i've actually ridden a horse more than they.

dunno.

maybe.

maybe not.

whilst sitting on my happy ass for about an hour -- before the bastarrds that are america west informed me that my flight was cancelled -- i played hold 'em.

even got a full house.

i think the full house is my favourite hand.

truth-be-told one probably doesn't need a leica to shoot a sleeping subject ...

but .. to handhold a camera to make a photo at a quarter second ... having no mirrorslap ... really helps...

glad he didn't wake up and kick my ass.

'cause when he got up and walked around he must have been like 6'4"...

leica mp. 35/1.4 summilux. 1/4 at f/5.6 and a half. iford delta 400 (+1 to 800).

Ah, Vegas airport.
The exposure in this is perfect.
I really want a fully manual camera but I'm not sure how easy it would be to work my way around it.
I'm looking at an R3a and a nokton 40/1.4 at the moment...

thank you.

you totally should get a manual camera...

the r3a is amazing and so is your lens choice!

If I were looking to spend that sort of money on a rangefinder, would there be any other camera/lens combinations you would recommend higher?
I like low light photography, and I like bokeh.

i also like the zeiss zm and their 35/2.0. worked well for me.

for low-light, though, i strongly suggest a one-four lens like the voigtlander nokton! pretty damn good.

I think airports are the best place to get good pics of people....if u have the time and ur not running from one place to the other. You can find all kinds of people haha

Nice that he didn't hear the shutter. Should submit to leica with caption "so quiet, your subjects will never suspect a thing" -- or something a bit more catchy.

If it runs, send me a copy

Glad he didn't kick yer ass... like the way the lighting on his face turned out.

This is a great, spontaneous capture. I really like the way the background is blurred in terms of focus and exposure. The subject is so sharp and stands out. I find it interesting also that the background seems almost futuristic or space age with the curves and lights yet we have a cowboy sitting up close. His hat the side is a nice touch, just making an appearance in the frame and almost blending into the dark seat.

Even if he does awake soemtime later and you're seeting by him with ur leica it would be fun to induldge in a agme of bets on whihc airline gets delayed or on time.

There's a feel of calmness despite the hustle of the airport itself.

Nice one mate.
