Today, Gene Wilder, famous for playing Willy Wonka and starring in Mel Brooks films such as Blazing Saddles & Young Frankenstein, has passed away at 83, may have been due to Alzheimers, but even in death, he did say "Don't forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he always wanted... I remember GW also in Mel Brook's The Producers too. But I think that he is best known for Willie Wonka.

One of the best movies ever for all ages, no matter if you lived in the 1970s or 2000s. I loved this movie even more than the Johnny Depp version. RIP Gene Wilder. We will never forget how you educated us about the importance of imagination.

One of my altime favorite comedians, I missed seeing him in films. Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor movies were some of the funniest I've ever enjoyed. He will always be THE Willy Wonka to me. Rest in peace.

He's finally back with his beloved Gilda. He was a great man whose outlook on life was so beautiful. I wish there were more like him in this world. It'd make it a much nicer and safer place.
