They insist she had it coming to her after stealing their chocolate and putting it in the peanut butter.

Well....
That's their version of the story and they are sticking to it.
They claim they were innocently saving (stealing) some chocolate they found laying abandoned (temporarily set down) in the woods (inside her camp site). While taking it away this big thing (the former human) came crashing after them and with a swipe of a paw tossed it into the sticky peanut butter. (They dropped it to keep from being swatted like flies and it fell into the open jar.) Since it was dangerous to anythign it might encounter, they were just transforming it into something safer for the forest. (And with her out of the way as a deer, they could try to salvage what was left of the chocolate. After all, who would eat chocolate with peanut butter?)
A clear case of self defense, as they're perfeclty (bitter) sweet, innocent (yeah right....) loveable (highly mischievious) fairies... (And if you buy this line, we also have some lovely water front property in Venace for sale along with this great bridge in New York City.)
