This is another one that came really close to the top three! I always enjoy seeing what you come up with, you think so outside the box. I know you're going to be fantastic when you master the program!

What brought this one down in the end is your postwork. Your character doesn't seem to fit into the background. Adding a shadow would help, but that's rather difficult to do when you're rendering a character separate and just placing on a 2D background. I encourage you to render your environment and character together so that they seem more like they belong together. Or, failing that, try something like pwCatch from DAZ3D. This lets you render shadows onto a clear background for better blending into a 2D background.

Also, the wings are very overlit, so that we can hardly see the details. If people are frequently telling you that things are "too bright" or overlit, then you might look into calibrating your monitor. I know that happened to me when I was starting! I thought things looked fine but people kept telling me they thought it was too bright. Turns out my monitor was the problem!

As far as your sparkle effects and border blurring, I encourage you to take a look at tutorials in the photo manipulation section for improving your postwork.

I just *love* the way you see things, and I look forward to seeing you grow as you improve BOTH your 3D and 2D skills! Keep it up!

But this was done as one render with her in the forest scene of the multi-plane cyclorama as per the rules.

The scene would not take shadows, and nothing else fit the fantasy theme

The sparkle effect is alchemy for the hero FX plane from Daz.

Oh, OK, hmmm. Maybe "Do not receive shadows" (or something like that, wording may not be exact) was checked in the Parameters tab? Sorry about that, it was the lack of shadows that led me to believe they had been rendered separately and composited. I'm not familiar with that sparkle product, could it have been made for Poser and not DS? It just seems like it should be more glowy, perhaps putting a light blue color in the ambient channel (Surface tab, under Advanced) and increasing the ambient strength would make it glow more?

I'm really puzzled by why the scene would not take shadows, it would be interesting to find out more.

Probably I should have increased the ambient lighting on in object so it stood out better.

I might check on the shadows again, but I have always had a terrible time getting shadows to show with that scene.

The wings are very bright, but I was trying to highlight them to make her seem more like a spirit creature

The character is very cute. If you check my scraps you can find some free ground-sets: [link] - some not too far from the BG you used. You can get decent shadows on them with the right lighting.

Unfortunately no, but my muses take the forms of the characters I created in my imagination so it is close ^_^
