Good god am I glad this is done.
This thing has taken me forever, despite appearances. I'm so glad this is done.This is the cover to chapter 2 of my good friend 's Pokemon fic, Explorers of Infinity, or EoI for short. Back in May he was having problems finding somebody to this cover for him, and I volunteered.
This was started out as a vector project, and was quite far along in early June when I realized I couldn't shade for crap in Inkscape. So I retraced what I had drawn into the GIMP and finished up in Kolourpaint.

The long while and effort you put into this is certainly worth it in the final product. X3 I think the black abyss serves to highlight the important features of the cover - the characters and the marble staircase (and of course the title XD). It also serves as a great contrast to the previous cover to Chapter 1 having a bright and happy background, and tone in general.
As such, the atmosphere is tense; the way Claws has turned to look mid-step, and by Kipper's stance he seems shocked (I love the way you drew these guys, something about them makes me think of actual baby animals and just tickles the maternal streak - I really just want to pick them up and take them home). Marowak standing alone at the top of the marble staircase gives off of an air of superiority, especially coupled with his stern expression.
The textures are amazing as always, from Claws' fuzziness, to Kippur's shiny smoothness, to those awesome marble bricks.

Maybe mainly a black border, but it's nice to see the characters needing to interact with each other in it. The Marowak is staring off into the distance however ._.
