Vexus was a secret Insecticon protoform created by Shockwave as a superior warrior until being expelled from his ship of experiments and seemingly stranded into space. However, she survived and first developed on one of Cybertron's moons and was determined to become a loyal follower to the Decepticon cause. Angered by the end of the Cybertron war, the death of the Fallen and the truce between Autobots and Decepticons irradicating both factions to become equals, Vexus strives to rekindle and resurrect the Decepticon empire by recovering the dead remains of many Insecticon brethren including three of the four original Insecticons, and rebuilt then into new powerful soldiers in a new Decepticon subgroup, The Cluster, and building an empire she calls Cluster Prime. Vexus intends to bring the Decepticons back to power and takeover the universe as a successor to the Fallen but her plans are in danger as she fears that the newest Autobot hero, XJ-9 aka Jenny, will ruin everything. Seeing her as a powerful weapon and a strong soldier, Vexus tries to convince XJ-9 to join her in her cause.
