Description Zordrak is not alone in the Land of Nightmares, he is surrounded, protected and served by his tough, highly trained, and dedicated troops, the Urpneys...here are two of them Frizz and Nug.

Frizz: ''I cant do it! I cant do it!''

Nug: ''I think Frizz is having a panic attack sarge.''

Blob: ''Frizz can has his panic attack in his free time, Nug! We has to go on a mission!''

Random Nostalgia  from my childhood that I just felt like drawing - the cowardly, ever suffering  pessimistic and cynical  Urpney's; Corporal's Frizz and Nug from the British TV series, The Dreamstone....and once you hear the theme tune...it's there.

There's even a soundtrack by the the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Mike Batt, and others..  [LINK]

And they even have their own song   [LINK] sung by Ozzy Ozbourne, Frank Bruno, and Billy Connolly.

These were probably some of the best characters from series, not surprising since that most of the episode was on them. Their banter was often funny. They may have been minions for the series' villain, but you often couldn't help but feel sympathetic and root for them since that they were really stuck between a rock and a hard place, and in general were not actively evil or spiteful towards the residents of the Land of Dreams, in fact, they were scared of them. Only doing what they had to out of fear of Zordrack and having nowhere else to live.

Not sure who exactly this is (c) to, but were created by Michael Jupp.

[EDIT] just added a colour background

The Urpneys were the best part of this (sadly underrated) show.

Frankly the Noops used to get on my nerves with their smug self-righteousness and disproportionate retribution towards them, even when they were terrified and begging for mercy.

Indeed, you couldn't help but feel sorry for them.

I watched the Dreamstone back in the days. I think I was about 5 when it was first showed?  I always loved the Urpneys and found them funny.  I think Frizz and Nug are just so adorable.

Nicely drawn, definitely resembles the style of show well.

Always felt really sorry for these guys, they were dragged into everything. They were those kind of villains that made you hate the heroes for winning, especially since they shown them almost zero sympathy.

Yes, the poor Urpneys, well these two anyway,  it' hard not to feel sorry for them, especially as they geneally had no ill will towards the citizens of the Land of Dreams, and sometimes the Heroes beat them up just as bad as their master did. I'm by no means a hardcore fan of the series, but I remember it fondly, good to see it's still rembered. I see you've made of comic of it- i'll have to read it sometime.

Thanks, well I tried to draw them as they appear in the series; It's on old one-from back in the 90's I remember watching, though had to refresh my memory of it, by watching a few episodes on YouTube, been a long time.

[Ah, yes. That everlasting feeling of nostalgia you can never really shake off. I remember when I found out my favorite British TV series, watership down was fully uploaded on youtube. And when I rewatched it, it was as awesome as I remembered it! An episode turned into two, and before I knew it, I was rewatching the entire series for the third time. Oh, well, it was worth it XD]

It's kinda of fun re-watching them to see how much you remember of them- it's how I also rediscovered Disney's HoND. Some shows, I'd almost completely forgotten I'd watched them in the first place when I was a kid- I think Darkwing Duck was one of them- so Though I did watch it, I don't really retain much memory of the content/stories. Thank goodness for youtube eh? Ah yes Watership Down- the series- I remember that! It's was certainly a good series, even though it diverged alot fro the book and film-but in a good way- we had it airing on TV, during the children's programs. Good times!

[Same here. My mother absolutely loved HoND and she had me and my sister watch the movie many times when we were kids. After a long time I begun to watch the movies again to freshen up my memories. I watched most of the more popular movies and, although they were all astonishing, I kept feeling like I was overlooking something. Fast-forward one or two years, I was feeling kinda edgy so I decided to look up top ten creepiest disney moments. And the hunchback of notre dame was in there. So I decided to give it a try...

And thus a religion was born XD]
