Viola! And so we have the refurbished version of Ice Hedgehog. My brother mentioned how the design change is a lot like Sonic’s: He changed from stout and chubby, to long and sleek. Nevertheless, he still stands a head below X, so he’s still short. Also, if you’ve noticed, the spines were replaced with what I think is an unusual, but neat replacement: fur (probably from a chinchilla slaughterhouse, and you know they exist because those beasties are FLUFFY! ). Unlike porcupines, hedgehogs are not as well known for their “sharp” spines, but for their cuddly shape (and the color blue,) which is the reason I excused this. And Iceman’s outfit works with this idea as well. With the change in body-type, his Ice Slider technique no longer makes use of his ability to change into ball form. I noticed that even among the other robots in Powered Up, Ice Man was the “cute one” of the 8, so he likewise plays that same roll among the Wily Mavericks. I found it amusing that when he was uncolored, I thought of Zero when I looked purely at the torso (the back hair did it.)

Story wise, Ice Hedgehog, along with Guts Grizzly Bear, Fire Stallion, Time Tomcat, and Galaxy Lemur, eventually defect from Neo Wily and end up joining the Maverick Hunters. This is because all of these robots share one common trait: they were created by Dr. Thomas Light, and were likewise created as inherently good robots. With the Wily Program’s destruction, the 5 reploids obtained the power of choice, and used it wisely, to Bass’s dismay. Ice Hedgehog proves quite useful at providing information on Bass’s military strengths during the later half of Bass’s war.

Also, he’s putting his right hand on the side of his face, because there’s supposed to be a communications device there, kind of like how a lot of agents and stuff in movies often push buttons on their ears to talk to their allies. My brother pointed out that the position of the fingers looks really weird, so now I can’t unsee it as being that way.

EDIT: I fixed his right hand, and tweaked the face a little bit. Although I’ll admit I practically TRACED the hand from Azuroru’s reference picture. Did I mention how much I hate drawing hands? I'm not entirely sure if the fix actually solved the problem though.
