Timeman was one of Dr Lights original ten robot masters before being upgraded into Time Tomcat. Much like his former self, he puts high priority on perfection. Now that his new body is perfected, his obsessive nature finally paid off, making him one of the most formidable of the 8 W Mavericks. Rather than try to over compensate for being incomplete Time Tomcat desires to prove his worth, and scoffs at those who knowingly avoid putting in effort. He envies all other reploids as they were built perfect, while he was made a prototype and fought his way up. His time sense is phenomenal, now able to track time by 0.0001th of a second. His reflexes are equally devious. He will commonly teleport out of harm’s way within a millisecond before taunting his foe about his terrible timing. His main tactic is to stand on the edge of the field while shooting time arrows, usually waiting for his opponent to strike (and miss) before leaping onto the upper corners of the room, and continuing to shoot on the other side. He prefers toying with his opponents, initially only using “Time Slow” before he either gets board, or finds it necessary to switch tactics. With his Time Slow attack, he teleports randomly, setting time arrows until he appears in the center of the room and unleashes his assault, which slows the player down, while forcing him to dodge a large number of attacks coming from every direction. His main weapon, “Time Stop,” is the upgraded version of “Time Slow,” except this time, the player is frozen solid, unable to move until the assault is over. His secret technique, which he only uses in the hardest difficulty, is “Time Reversal,” which is a health recovery technique. In spite of his clear speed superiority, his weapon damage as well as his health are both low for a reploid of his rank. His weakness is electricity, which is too fast for him to predict. The sudden outburst of electric currents disrupts his time control, temporarily slowing down his reflexes, negating his teleportation, and preventing him from using time abilities (except time arrows.) Due to the nature of Time Tomcat staying on the sides of the stage, and “Thunder Wool” being built to hit anything in this sort of vicinity, this attack is especially devastating. Time Tomcat took over the Chrono Research Center in hopes of developing new weapons. He has already eliminated several hunters before the player arrived at his base. He has a very low view of maverick hunters, but seems to have a clear respect for X, due to the relationship they have as brothers.

Although a bit of a haughty snob, I always found Time Man appealing as a character (the cool level music doesn’t hurt.) This is my second reploidized robot master, this time it’s Time Man. Since he, unlike most robot masters, has a clear personality and back-story, he was much easier to create overall. I have 6 more of these guys planned out, but if anyone has any suggestions for a reploidized robot master, I’d like to hear it. The main reason I decided to make these guys is because I couldn’t find this sort of art anywhere on the net.

When I finished the original drawing, I thought to myself, “This is exactly what I imagined,” …save for the feminine hips. I suppose he does have “cattitude?” I'll fix that. For some odd reason, I had to give him a bow on his tail (complete with bell.) Something about the “serious business” expression and the deliberately contrasting bow just seem to click. It looks like his brooding expression is a result of that thing. It reminds me of when I put tape on my cat’s feet (which I rarely ever do.)

Another thing, his design was greatly influenced by Time Man’s drawing by Hitoshi Ariga.

Edit: I fixed his "invisible leg" problem, and I'm aware that one leg is bigger than the other. I'll fix that in newer pictures of him
