Ok, many of you know I am obsessed with the fact that I cannot draw my fave character, Demitrius. I have been trying since 2002... is this not sad? >< For some reason, he just never looks like my vision in my head. It makes me sad
Since I have said I am going to do more sketchbook/practice work with markers, I am going to use him as my guinea pig once more :3 Maybe this season I'll actually get one to look like him! ><
LOL... I should have a contest to see if someone else can draw him <,< I bet it's just me ...<_<,
So... on a good note, I didn't use any colored pencil and I don't hate it :3 LOL Eyes need work... they look a little off. But it was good practice none the less!

How old is Demitrius supposed to be? He has this nubile face, yet his face, this look, is very ancient.

In physical appearance, 19, in years alive, early 30's... but he bears quite a bit of weight on him for one so young. Technically, he is 730, but he slept for 700 years. Waking to a whole new world with everyone and everything he knew gone aged him quite a bit. His upbringing was not a gentle one either. I am glad you can see that in him

I don't know what it is, but I have a character who is exactly the same way. He is very old, but you can only tell through the eyes. I suppose I can see that in other people just because I "see through his eyes" a lot in my dreams.
Regardless, you capture that ancient essence perfectly. It's just an impenetrable stare. It's full of authority, the gravity of many eons gone by. The eyes are the window to the soul, and it just hits you right away. This person is old, much older than that face may entail. It's just an authoritative stare. It's hard to miss it. It just hits you like a wall.

Sometimes my words get me in trouble because my words get in the way at times. It's like some people don't believe me when I tell them the truth. It's like they would rather believe the comfort of the lies they tell themselves and not the truth of the matter.
You deserve it, Cybre. You're an incredible artist and an incredible human being. You deserve all the love and good will, all the fortune and providence, that life can afford you. I hope your dreams come true and that you never stop just being yourself. It's what you're good at. It's what really shines through. It's hard to miss it, it is simply radiant in its splendor.
I wish you nothing but the absolute best in life, and I hope that your life is full of love and adventure. May all your dreams come true, Cybre. You deserve that reality.
