That's probably a good guess, Wikipedia implies that you can't tell the Common, Antillean, and Lesser Nighthawks apart from a single image like this, so we may never know.Β

I'm thinking this is an Antillean Nighthawk. It could also be a Lesser Nighthawk, but in your image the white throat is not visible, so I'm leaning towards an Antillean Nighthawk instead of a lesser. www.tsuru-bird.net/a_species/nβ¦

It is a nightjar of some sort (not sure of exact species), it's just out during the day for some reason. Β This happens, even with strictly nocturnal species, for some reason or another.

Figures as much would be true, there's a lot of species in different classes that look almost identical.
