Series: Deadman WonderlandCharachter: Red Man aka Wretched Egg
Cosplayer: me
Photographer: with many thanks to the photographers for bearing with me, as I saw nothing and could barely hear what was said.
Placed 2nd on Friday's Cosplay competition at Japan Expo Belgium 2012
Materials:
Fiberglass for the front part of the helmet with plastic for the nose. Thus making it impossible for me to see anything, had to do an act on stage in this fashion.
Most of the armor is done out of EVA-foam (very similar to craftfoam), covered with liquid rubber, then painted silver.
Plastic chains painted silver
red stretch fabric for the cape
Lots of (fake) bloodstains (but could use even more)

I couldn't see, only in daylight I was able to see the floor via the gap between the mask and my face, but people had to guide me whenever I moved ^^'

I really jumped into the air when I saw your photo in my dA inbox some time ago! I had just watched the series and I thought it was really cool that someone took the effort to cosplay it, and at such an insanely nice and detailed level at that! OwO
you got all the nifty little details, plus the fabrics choise is really nicely done and fitting the character ;w;

A friend introduced me into the series, and when I saw that grin, I was sold, this costume had to be made. I'm glad how it turned out, and even more glad that people like it so much (even though to me it's a pain in the bottom to walk around, let alone, do an acto on stage xD)

ghe, I can totally imagine... sometimes a cosplayer has to suffer for his art, no doubt about it... werent you able to move the vizier up at times when you were walking? (although ofcourse during the cosplay act you'd still have to wear it facedown...)
were you together with a deadman wonderland group? cause I can imagine by yourself people may not recognise you..

I prefered keeping the helmet on while walking, to stay in character, especially since I'm supposed to be a girl
There should have been a Shiro by my side, but she got ill and didn't feel well to wear costumes that event, but we will be doing to in a few months at Animecon at Den Haag, maybe we'll meet there?

ow! that's really cool! and I'm afraid I wont be attending Animecon, since the price ofr a one day ticket is off the charts... but I'm already looking forward to the photos! I'll make sure I'll note some dutch photographers to look out for you to get some nice pictures
