Name: Genevieve

Birthplace: Ylisse
Family members: Mother and Father [Deceased], Elder sister (Madeleine) [Deceased]
Personality: Quite shy and lacks self confidence, can be a bit of a neat freak, generous, wary, committed, trusting, gentle, nurturing
History:
She grew up in a small house in the Halidom of Ylisse along with her older sister. Her parents had died not long after her birth during the war between Ylisse and Plegia.
Her sister was very strong minded and over protective, never letting Genevieve go anywhere alone. As such, they were very attached to each other and were never seen apart. They walked all the way from their home to listen to Emmeryn’s speeches, and revered her like a goddess, hanging on to her every word as they struggled through daily life.
Eventually, her sister decided that they should sign up to be knights at the palace, so they could protect their beloved Emmeryn.
They both signed up to be Pegasus knights, as they were the closest guards to the Exalt. Her sister seemed to be a natural and aced in both weapon use and flying, but Genevieve just couldn’t seem to get the hang of it. Her timid and jumpy attitude disturbed the Pegasi, and she could never seem to ride them all too well. She almost gave up and was on the verge of tears when her sister was accepted, but she wasn’t, but her sister urged her to continue, and to always “Expect the worst but hope for the best.”
As much as she would have liked to, her sister couldn’t stay behind in the training camps, and had to be deployed straight away to replace a recently retired Knight.
A few years went by, and Genevieve still had no luck, her only progress was a slight improvement in using the lance, but not much else. On one sunny afternoon, she was sitting alone by the stables, trying to figure out why the horses just couldn’t seem to cooperate with her, when a fellow trainee came running up to her with a exasperated expression. It was on that day that Emmeryn was to have another speech, but one of the crowd- who certainly wasn’t there to listen, took out a bow and arrow and threatened to kill the Exalt if anyone moved even an inch. Renown for her speed and being the risk taker she was, her sister swooped in front of her Exalt in the blink of and eye. She was too fast for the bowman to harm Emmeryn, but unfortunately the same could not be said for herself. She was shot, and fell off her Pegasus from such a height and angle that the arrow fully impaled her.
Absolutely distraught and angry at her sisters untimely death, Genevieve mourned and locked herself away for days. When she finally shook herself out of her slump, she proceeded to run to the armoury, picked up an axe, and started swinging it around the training room to try and cool her anger. One of the instructors saw this, and deemed her aptitude with the weapon to be far more skilful than the average first-timer, and knowing that she didn’t seem to get along with cavalry, asked her if she would prefer to train to be a Knight instead.
She agreed, and trained extremely hard everyday until she was eventual promoted to General class, although at first she was never taken seriously due to her quietness and gentle demeanour, but was soon accepted into the ranks after displaying her skills on the battlefield. She unfortunately still has some problems with self confidence, and often belittles herself for the smallest of failures.
Trivia:
- She’s very soft-spoken, and her voice can easily be misheard.
- Gen has a big love for, and is rather knowledgable about crockery and cutlery.
- She’s very tall, and part of her low self confidence stems from this, as she believes it makes her stand out in a bad way. (There are no official heights in FE and I’m awful at estimates, so I’ll have to do with a comparison. She’s just slightly shorter than Frederick.)
- Adores frills and lace, and enjoys wearing dresses whenever possible.
