Though I wonder if it possible to make a tutorial of how to make link boxes out of images? Yes, I know how to make an image as a link... But it would be awesome to make a changing image. I. e. becoming darker, lighter, changing colours or filtred when you put a cursor on it...
In another words, I want to know a css code of making a link out of two images! Ilke, for example loish in her custom box has.
I understand that she made in Photoshop two differrent images for one link, she didn't make her boxes completely out of css, like in this skin, for example:Β

i caught this in my message center because of the mention! if it's any help, each link is a div with a specific size. each div also has it's own background image (the images made in photoshop). each background image is twice as tall as the div itself, and has the normal BG at the top, and the 'hover' BG at the bottom. like this:Β loish.net/deviantart/widget/11β¦
when people hover over the link, the background-position changes. so it's really just as simple as making a .hover style for each link, and in that .hover, you specify that the BG image position changes. in the case of the image i linked, the bg image moves up 163 px.
