I feel like you could do a little more work directly under the eyes...the eyes are the part that make any portrait truly recognizable. Otherwise, I love it. Very nice shading and the work is very detailed, which I like...you don't skimp on anything.

Thanks for the advice/observation. The photograph source I used was not the best, hence I was somewhat handicapped in my interpretation. But you are quite right about this "finished" result here, silverautumn.

I did wonder about the photo source...given the quality of your other work, I figured that it had to be the source, not the artist

I remember that! Isn't that the one where a girl jumps into a comic strip and the hero there saves her, then she jumps out but the paper gets crushed so he can't escape? Something like that, right? The song was cute and catchie, nothing spectacular, but the vid rocked. It was an early form of cel shading animation, I believe.
