ah nice! It was my piece back in the day I was in the service. K1 is basically classified as a SMG but to me it's more like a carbine rather than SMG. Think it as a Korean version of AKS-74U.

its not an assault rifle, its a battle rifle, which is kinda the same, you can see it often cause many of the existing battle rifles has a folding/rectractable stock, but nice drawing

you got the wrong idea... Battle rifle refers to rifles that use 7.62mm cartridges which have more stopping powers than 5.56mm (assault rifles use 5.56mm cartridges)
